It’s Award Day on Sheri’s Blog
SISTERHOOD OF THE WORLD BLOGGER AWARD
By – Sheri de Grom
I’ve discovered interesting and informative blogs by way of receiving and circulating awards. I’m a child in the sandbox and my pail is full. The sky is cloudless and my sandcastle stands solid.
Thank you Patty for honoring me with the Sisterhood of the World Blogger Award. You’ll find Patty’s blog below. Don’t miss out. Visit today! http://thoughtsfromanamaericanwoman.wordpress.com.
Patty and I became friends through our trust in God, sharing of all things military, travel, and living life to the fullest.
The rules for receiving the Sisterhood of the World Blogger Award seem simple but when I stop and think about all the awesome women I’ve met in one year, I stand (or sit, as the case may be) and marvel at what we’ve all survived and the blessings bestowed upon each of us, as well as our challenges and our rewards.
I’m to answer ten questions:
- My favorite color – Deep Sapphire Blue.
- My favorite animal – Shih Tzu Dogs.
- My favorite non-alcoholic drink – Non-fat Latté.
- Facebook or Twitter – Twitter @SheriDeGrom.
- Do you prefer getting or giving presents? Both.
- Favorite Day of the week – Everyday.
- My favorite flower – Wildflowers.
- My passion – Advocacy for mental healthcare reform, veterans, human rights, animal rights, elder care, global warming, concerned citizen of military drawdown and reading.
My Nominees Are:
CJ Knots
http://cjknotts.wordpress.com/2012/11/25/i-went-to-the-mall-i-need-therapy
I met CJ via Susie Lindau’s blog http://susielindau.com/2012/11/28/use-me-and-abuse-me-day. I’ve followed Susie’s blog for months and it just keeps getting better and better.
Susie Lindau – see link above. She’s definitely nominated for the Sisterhood of the World Blogger Award. Her ‘Use Me and Abuse Me’ blog is legendary and if you aren’t already visiting there, it’s a great place to meet new friends. The only requirement I’ve seen is that you drop in on someone you’d like to meet and tell them, “Susie sent me.” How simple is that?
Kitt Crescendo – http://theinnerwildkat.wordpress.com/2012/12/20/take-it-all-off
Kitt brings her heart and soul to the world of blogging. Her sensitivity to many of the subjects she addresses never ceases to touch my heart. The specific blog I’ve referenced above came at just the right time. Kitt, by way of the official movie trailer for Les Miserables, opened a discussion of baldness and the stigma surrounding it. Closing the post is the music video by Rascal Flatts performing their hit song ‘Skin.’
The last ten days presented a horrific time for our nation and I reblogged one of Kitt’s blogs. I knew I couldn’t do the subject matter justice. I feel the same about the link above that will take you to the subject of human baldness. I visit Kitt’s blog faithfully (sometimes I’m a little late in arriving) but I’m never disappointed.
Florence Fois – Sisterhood wouldn’t be complete without Florence. You’ll find Florence at this location: http://ramblingsfromtheleft.wordpost.com
Florence’s blogs are character studies of life in Brooklyn, New York, and points beyond. Characters step from the page of her blog and I proceed to join them as they accept invitations to explore. Amazement compels me forward and, when I’ve reached the close of any one of Florence’s posts I find myself reaching out to touch my computer screen. I won’t start reading a blog by Florence until I’ve made myself a latté and have time to sit back and enjoy the read.
Monica –
http://gongjumonica.wordpress.com
How could I possibly miss out on exploring Monica’s blog and signing up? I couldn’t. I love it when I stumble onto something completely unexpected and well- written. Monica’s blog heading reads, “Impressions of a Princess.” She is royalty with her random thoughts in reviewing books while playing bookworm. She admits she has another side and I hit pay dirt when I read an opinion piece about the US military and our various aspects of being engaged in the Philippines.
Esenga
http://esengasvoice.wordpress.com/2012/11
How could I pass up Esenga’s blog? Her tags included colors, feelings, love, music, pause, silence, thoughts, words, memories, impressions and adventures unleashed. Each word speaks to me individually and collectively. When I first perused Esenga’s entries, I was so enthralled, I read the entire month of November in one sitting.
Your Rules To Follow:
- Acknowledge the person who passed the award to you and provide their link.
- Include the award logo on your blog.
- Answer the ten questions I posted.
- Nominate the blogs and links to those that you especially enjoy reading. The number you select is up to you.
- Notify each individual that you have nominated them.
Congratulations everyone and a special thank you to my friend Patty for nominating me.

I can’t wait to explore your nominees’ blogs. I’m always looking for more interesting and unique people to follow and I thank you SO much for posting these.
You deserve that nomination, Sheri. Congratulations to you!
Patti
Thank you, Patti. I’ve met some amazing bloggers in the past few months. It never ceases to amaze me about the amount of talent we have available to explore.
Here I sit on Christmas Eve, Sheri. About to watch another Christmas movie and making one last check of my mail. We are indeed part of a Sisterhood, dear one. I thank you so much for your kind words and for the nomination.
May you and Tom have a grand Christmas and the best to us in 2013. See you next year
Florence – Wonder Woman that you are, I do believe there’s something bigger coming your way in 2012. It provides me yet another opportunity to speak of grand things on the horizon in your world for 2013:)
Thank you for nominating me I am in some awesome company. Been kind of busy these last few weeks but going to pass this on as soon as I can
CJ – There’s no hurry. Wait until after the first if you need.
Thanks so much Sheri! Wow! What a nice shout out. Congratulations to you!
I have been off the grid and hope to catch up this week.
It is bloggers like you that make the UMAADays so much fun! Thank you for being such a great blogosphere friend!
Susie – I wasn’t sure if you accepted awards but I wanted my followers to know your blog was out there and such a great place to visit and meet other blogers. I always make it a point to take time to meet and greet when you host your ‘use me and abuse me post.’ Enjoy your holiday trip – your snow dance reached us and we are burried. We rarely have more than an inch or two a year and yesterday we were blessed with 2 ft on Christmas – that must have been one powerful dance.
Hahaha! My dance must have packed a punch!
It was so sweet of you to think of me. I really appreciate it! Thank you so very much Sheri!
We are indeed sisters in Christ! I hope you had a nice Christmas – and blessings for the New Year!
Indeed we are, Patty. Christmas was one of the best ones Tom and I’ve had in years. There’s a blog of the year star coming your way – I simply have to get it posted. Thank you for being my blogging friend and so much more. I am blessed.
Praise God! I am so happy that you both had a wonderful holiday. Many more “bests” for the coming year. God bless!
I also look forward to exploring the blogs you nominated. I already regularly visit a few of them–and look forward to discovering some wonderful new ones.
I love exploring nominated blogs.
Congratulations and I know you are very deserving for this award. I’m sorry for replying so late. I am not ungrateful – just too busy with things. Am I to answer the same questions you answered?
Monica – Yes, go ahead and answer the same questions I answered. You may use the same format I used on my blog. Link back to my blog as the person that passed the award to you and then nominate individuals you wish to pass the award on to. Congratulations.
